BPBD Jakarta Berikan Peringatan Dini Banjir Rob hingga 3 Januari 2025

BPBD Warns of Tidal Floods in North Jakarta from December 3 to January 3

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) calls on residents who live in coastal areas to be alert for tidal floods or rob from December 3, 2024, to January 3, 2025.

This is our commitment to maintaining the comfort and safety of Jakarta residents

"As a result of the maximum sea tide phenomenon coinciding with the new moon phase, which has the potential to increase the maximum sea tide height in the form of tidal waves in the coastal areas of North Jakarta," said Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, Thursday (12/26).

Therefore, he urged residents of the northern coastal areas of Jakarta such as Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, Kalibaru, Muara Angke to Seribu Islands to anticipate the impact of maximum tides of seawater which have the potential to cause coastal flooding.

Jakarta Provincial Provides Third Weather Modification Operation

"For today, the flooding that occurred only covered 0.003% of the total 30,772 RTs in Jakarta. No evacuation today. We have also coordinated with the SDA Agency to jointly overcome this tidal problem," he explained.

By so, if the residents encounter an emergency that requires help, immediately contact the Jakarta Siaga 112 Call Center.

"We'll deploy personnel to monitor flood conditions in each region in anticipation of ongoing negative impacts. This is our commitment to maintaining the comfort and safety of Jakarta residents amidst the potential for extreme weather," he closed.
